Below a picture of Wyn (centre) smoking a pipe with his men.

Wyn was in a hospital in Bristol recuperating from a bullet wound in WW1. The shot entered his cheek & exit near the ear – therefore the bandage around his head! The cigarette was a sign of the times – healthy in those days!

Wyn’s parents John (born in Rochford 1853-) and Sarah (1857-) had 8 children: Edith Maud (1878-), Eva Bell (1881-), Elsie Elizabeth (1879-), Arthur George (1883-), Dora (1886-1970), Guy Hunter (1884-), Amy (1888-), & Edwyn, John (Edgar John? 1894-1949). They were married in 1876 in Kensington, London.
Wyn is sitting to the right of his mother. Margaret is standing behind Wyn (we think).

Wyn lived here when the 1901 Census was taken & he was 7 years old at the time. There were 12 people in the house at the time – all his family and Eva’s husband, and a cook and a housemaid.
